
- This is a recovery home. No alcohol or drugs are allowed on the property. Any use of alcohol or drugs will be grounds for immediate eviction. If a member is suspected of alcohol or drug use; he or she will be requested to take UA immediately and will be evicted if positive.
- No disruptive behavior is allowed. Any behavior, which is deemed by the Manager to be detrimental to the serenity and recovery of the home, is strictly forbidden. This would include threats, physical violence or intimidation of any manner. Disruptive behavior may result in immediate eviction.
- Stealing is not tolerated. Any offense may result in immediate eviction.
- “Quiet time” is at 10:00pm – 9:00am Sunday – Thursday. Please keep noise to a minimum during this period. Cooking meals on the stove-top, oven or outdoor grill (microwaves, ok) must be concluded by this time. No Laundry is permitted during quiet time. Visitors are not allowed during quite time. Please keep TV’S and conversation at a low tone for members who go to work in the early am. Be respectful.
- No one is allowed in another’s room, unless invited or member is present.
- Members may not take “naps” during the day Mon-Friday unless approved by the home manager!
- Clean up after yourself. When using kitchen; clean area and all dishes within 30 minutes of completion of meal. Be sure to wipe down counter tops and stoves after every use!!!
- You purchase your own food. If you didn’t buy it - don’t eat it unless it was given to you. Honesty is crucial in this home!
- Everyone will share in weekly chores on a rotating basis. Incomplete chores will result in a $20.00 fine. Chores will still have to be completed by member. You cannot pay or ask another home member to do your chores.
- No smoking anywhere in the Home. Doors must be shut when smoking outside. Smoking is only permitted in the smoking designated area in the back yard. Smoking in the front outside area of the home is not permitted or unless approved by home Manager due to inclement weather.
- The home computer is available for use by all home members. If you’ve been on the computer for 30 minutes or more you must allow another member on the computer within 15 minutes of their request. No pornography is allowed on the “home” computer. DO NOT download programs on home computer, i.e., “instant messenger”
- Be respectful of others property; if you damage our home or others property you will be expected to pay for it.
- Serenity Recovery Homes highly suggests your residency should be at least 6 months and up to one year.
- If you are on the phone and a call comes in; you are expected to take a message and put it on the message center if member is not available.
- Home members are expected to maintain good hygiene. Each member is required to bathe or shower daily. Men must be clean shaved at all times where applicable!
- Laundry area is run on a first come first serve basis. No laundry is allowed to be left in the machines. You must be present in the home while doing laundry and another member cannot do your laundry. No Laundry is permitted during “quiet time” and your laundry must be cleaned weekly!
- If a home member is evicted they have 5 calendar days to remove all of their belongings. After 5 days everything will be donated to charity or the home. This rule applies to members who are away from the home during an eviction; i.e., jail etc. Otherwise items must be removed at once!
- Curfew for first 30 days is 10:00 pm Sunday-Thursday and 12:00 am weekends, after first 30 days >>general curfew is 1:00am (Sun-Thurs) and 2:00am on Fri-Sat or unless prior arrangements are made with the Manager. Overnight stays are not permitted during first 30 days.
- If you expect to be away for more than 24 hours you must obtain permission from the home manager. No home member may be away for more than 3 nights in a seven-day period. You live in our home for a reason. Be present in the home to get spiritual growth. This is not a place to just sleep. If you are not here – you cannot grow and thus will be subject to eviction.
- We highly suggest that our clients do not begin any new “personal relationships” during their first 6 months of residency! Fraternization with members of Serenity homes is strictly forbidden. Member(s) will be subject to eviction if found fraternizing with members of our women’s home or men’s home.
- Profanity is not permitted on the property at anytime!
- No sexual activities are allowed on the property at any time. Visitors of the opposite sex may not be in your rooms at anytime.
- Before going to bed, check that all outside doors are locked. Outside lights must be turned off before retiring for bed.
- When you are the last person leaving the home; be sure to lock all doors!
- Members who are not working, must be up and looking for work no later than 9:00am.
- You must make your bed before 9:00am. M-F & Sat-Sun; no later than 30 minutes upon awakening. Beds will be made daily.
- Attendance at home meetings or events are mandatory. Only IOP can preclude a member from missing a home meeting or event
- New members may not work more than 40 hours per week during their first 4 months at SERENITY. Or as approved by the home Manager. New members can only work during the day and cannot work where alcohol is being served.
